Networking

Local-Victorian network -- SPIRAL

The key network which we currently auspice is the local-statewide SPIRAL network.

In the past we have established more specialised local networks such as Teachers of Participatory Action Research (TOPAR) for which we ran an annual curriculum-R&D day; and Researchers in Community Health (RICH).

There is currently a lively postgraduate seminar group that meets at Borderlands in the oases Integrative and Transformative studies masters program in the Graduate School of Community Research at the Augustine Centre, Hawthorn.

We are also an affiliated member of the national and international network Action Learning, Action Research (ALARA - formerly ALARPM) which has country, state and interest-based groups.

National-Australian network -- ALARA

The website for ALARA is:

International networking

ALARA and the UK-based CARN are key international networks.
There are moves afoot to 'network the networks' as there are now many national and regional and local groups, and a need for a mutually recognised meta-network and 'switchboard/signposts' website.

See also Web links in Links and resources where we will gradually add annotated details of the key internet and list-service groups and participative journals such as AR-List, PAR-Announce, Action Research, Action Learning, Systemic Practice and AR, and online journals like Action Research International, etc.
